What is DPI?
Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) is a technology used by internet providers and governments to closely examine the content of your internet traffic. With DPI, authorities can:
- Block VPNs and privacy tools - Detect and prevent the use of VPNs, Tor, and other anti-censorship tools
- Data aggregation and profiling - Collect comprehensive data to create detailed user profiles and behavioral fingerprints that can be sold, shared with law enforcement, or used for corporate espionage
- Use AI for advanced blocking - Employ artificial intelligence to find new ways to block or restrict access
- Block specific apps and services - Target applications like Telegram, WhatsApp, or other messaging platforms
- Traffic shaping and throttling - Slow down certain types of traffic such as streaming or torrenting
- Identify privacy tool users - Detect users of VPN, Tor, torrents, and other privacy-enhancing technologies
- Fine or imprison users - In some countries, using privacy tools can lead to legal risks or draw unwanted attention from authorities.
- Bypass privacy laws - Circumvent long-standing legal protections by collecting data that can be sold to various organizations including law enforcement, tax authorities, and political entities
- Enable corporate espionage - Allow competitors to purchase ISP data to monitor research activities and corporate communications

What is Active Probing?
With active probing, the system doesn't just watch internet traffic - it also tries to interact with your server
by sending test data or connection attempts.
If your server responds in a way that looks like a VPN or other privacy tool, the system will block access to it completely.
This makes it harder to use privacy tools, because the system is actively searching for them instead of passively filtering traffic.

How to be safe from it?
To protect yourself from DPI and active probing,
use a VPN that supports bleeding edge protocols for bypassing DPI like VLESS REALITY.
Our VPN is just $1.99/month and supports VLESS REALITY, among other privacy-related unique features.
